Kirigami? Don’t you mean Origami? Most people are familiar with the paper folding process we now know as origami? Kirigami is similar to origami in that it is a form of paper art. The major difference is that in origami, you fold paper whereas in kirigami, you fold and cut paper.

When you think of urban city locations or large metropolitan areas, you probably think of large skyscrapers, various forms of public transportation as well as the hustle and bustle of everyday commuters. Most would describe these locations as “concrete jungles”, due to the implied chaos that comes when living in the big city. But the term “concrete farm” might be more appropriate in this case.

Last year Diet Coke had a brand overhaul when they broke away from their traditional branding and simplified the brand assets in hopes of attracting a younger consumer base. Along with the brand overhaul came a series of promotional TV spots letting millennials know that it’s now cool to drink Diet Coke.

We know the term ‘less is more’ and it is often used to express the view that a minimalist approach to design or aesthetic tends to be more effective or impactful. Smartphones have been leaning into this ideology since the early conception of cell phones (minus the 80’s ‘brick’ phones) and it seems that in the process phones are getting slimmer, smaller, lighter and sleeker.
